on an ordinary day

The most beautiful fabrics were never meant to wait. Prathistha kurtis — hand block-printed in Jaipur, made from the finest natural fibers — are for every day you are alive.

The philosophy

The finest things were never
meant for special occasions.

In Jaipur's old workshops, the finest fabric has always been worn, not preserved. We built Prathistha around this inheritance.

Your grandmother's finest sari was locked away. Brought out twice a year, perhaps for a wedding, perhaps for Diwali. Photographed carefully. Then folded back into the dark.

We inherited her reverence for craft. Not her habit of saving it.

The cotton we source is handwoven in Rajasthan — dyed with natural pigments ground from minerals, flowers, and earth. The block printing is done by Bagru artisan families who have done nothing else for five generations. This fabric, this craftsmanship, this heritage — it deserves your Monday morning, your afternoon chai, your ordinary Tuesday.

Not because the occasion demands it. Because you do.

Our Craft

The artisans
of Bagru

For over 500 years, the craftspeople of Bagru — a small village 32 kilometres southwest of Jaipur — have passed down the art of hand block printing under the patronage of Rajput rulers.

Every block is hand-carved from seasoned teak wood. Natural pigments are mixed by hand. The printing itself is a meditative rhythm — block, press, lift, move — repeated hundreds of times to complete a single piece of fabric.
